Huge Thanks to our Day of Caring 2007 Volunteers...
from Republic Bank: Andrea Heister, Tish Marek, Mary Dearing
from OU: Ed Marek
...with Special Thanks to Norman Regional Health Systems for
a grant to assist with flooring costs for this project!
This amazing team of volunteers, with help from some of our
clients, helped transform the floor in our Drop-In Center from very worn
carpeting - to beautiful wood looking flooring! This is part of an effort
called The Serenity Project. For our agency, this is our way of
transforming our agency into a more peaceful and serene space for the clients
who participate in our programs. Environment does make a difference in
helping people through their recovery process.

This team was fresh and spunky early in the day...

Jeff Pilkington, UW Campaign Chair stopped by to help and
support the troops with drinks and kneepads!

Mary wanted everyone to see her beautiful corner...

...and 'no one puts Baby in a corner!'

That statement let everyone know that goofy was starting to
set in... then exhaustion, but this group persevered until the job was done -
well after 5:00 pm!

Andrea was proud that she worked so hard she got blisters on
her knees!

And then, the final product - beautiful for all to enjoy!

From all of us at Transition House, Inc.
Thank You 2007 Day of Caring Volunteers!
Your hard work and determination to do a great job really
made a huge difference in the appearance of our Drop-In Center. Your
effort was a wonderful follow-up to the painting done during our agency retreat
in August.

Drop-In Center Update
Here are some updated photos of the Drop-In Center that show
work that was completed after Day of Caring. Thanks to Ed & Tish Marek
for donating new floor vents and to Coltrane Properties for adding new
baseboards and for doing some additional painting!
