Thanks to our 20 Dedicated OG&E Day of Caring Volunteers...
September 8, 2006 started with a desk in our lobby....
and a dream to make this into an office....

When the materials arrived...
and the framing began...

...we knew this was no ordinary Day of Caring at Transition
House, Inc.

While the construction crew was busy in the lobby, others
were busy too. There was shredding...

and work on the computers...
and the most favorite job of all volunteers, Cleaning at the
Apartments!

Meanwhile, back at the office, the construction work was
moving right along.
There was drywall...

taping...
and mud.

At the end of day, this wonderful group of OG&E
volunteers (plus one OG&E employee's husband),
created a new office space for Elizabeth, our Recovery Coordinator, shredded old
records, worked on our database and computers, and cleaned at our four
apartments. The dedication and hard work of this group saved our agency
well over one thousand dollars in labor hours, and lifted the spirits of our
clients and staff.
From all of us at Transition House, Inc. to our Day of Caring
2006 Volunteers...

But wait, there's more. Because the construction job
could not be completed in one day, a couple of our volunteers will be back to
finish the texture and trim work. Now that's dedication!

Special Thanks to the local businesses who provided discounts
and donations that helped with our many Day of Caring 2006 Projects.
