For the 2nd year in a row, Transition House, Inc., won
the
Best Adult Music float in the Norman Holiday Parade 2005

This year, the clients did an outstanding job of developing
and creating the float. With some help from staff and other volunteers,
this year was the best! In addition to being a fun event for the holidays,
the development of the float and the marching in the parade represented a
significant mental wellness activity for all involved. Thanks to everyone
who worked so hard to make this such a special holiday activity for all!
It started with an elf outfit made by Elizabeth...
and an appliance box for our Dave in the Box...

all of the parts of the float were carefully crafted by our
clients, with a little help from some volunteers and staff.
Then after endless hours of hard work and some late
nights...

we met at 7:30 am on December 10th to prepare the float for
the Holiday Parade at 10:00 am.
After some hot chocolate, donut holes and baton twirling...

it was off to get in line for the parade...

young and young at heart, Board members to June Bug Jam
stars, and even some 4 legged supporters were ready to start the parade!

With our heads held high and the drums beating away, we
shared our message of hope and wellness with our community.

Thanks to all who made this special Holiday activity one
we'll remember for years to come!

it was a wonderful day for all involved in the 2004 Holiday
Parade!
Special thanks to
for once again providing the truck and
trailer for our float.
Here's a quote about the Holiday Parade 2003
"Our Past President, Earl
Whitman and his wife Gerry, state that despite the cold weather,
marching for Transition House in the Holiday Parade to the beat of the
boomer wackers was both a fun and meaningful experience. We
encourage everyone to join the group and march on behalf a wonderful
organization."

Consumers, staff, Board members, volunteers, and June Bug Jam performers rallied
together to create a wonderful musical float that was entered into Norman's
annual holiday event. Members of the Drum Circle played their drums on the
float while others walked along side the float with boom wackers.
A very special thanks to the many to endured the very cold
rainy conditions to represent Transition House, Inc., in this major community
event.
